Melancholy & Bacon
Everyone deals with mental health at some point, and it can be a tricky thing to discuss, let alone live with.
Here, on Melancholy and Bacon, I jump headfirst into the topic of mental health with a little bit of humor and a whole lot of honesty.
I’m just an everyday guy talking about what should be an every day subject.
Things here are casual but candid, there won’t be any tiptoeing around topics. I will be openly discussing a subject that is often shuffled into the shadows and hopefully clearing away some of the fog around something so many live with.
I’ll be sharing personal experiences and stories, covering current beliefs in the field and a few of my own evolving hypothesis. Maybe, with a dash of luck and a lot of information, we can break down the stigmas surrounding mental health.
Whether you are struggling yourself or are simply curious to learn more, here you'll find open, honest, judgment-free conversation.
Tune in, grab a snack (if it's bacon, make sure you share), and let's navigate the ups and downs of mental health together. Your mental well-being matters, and I’m here to remind you that you're not alone.

Melancholy & Bacon
And the (not so) infinite sadness
Here I talk about sadness, how it isn't necessarily a bad thing, why we should all be a little more childlike with our emotions, and ways we can process broad emotional states, using food analogies (wait... what?) I share an off beat theory, personal stories and talk about how an amazing boy named Titus helped me to gain new perspective on where an emotion like sadness might really stem from.
A special thank you to Amber Maurice-Ponder for allowing me to share a story about my experience with her most amazing son.
